Color Game for Toddlers

Play this fun game with toddlers to help them learn the names of colors. Cut two pieces each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink construction paper to 8 1/2 x 11 inches. Print the pictures onto each color and cut them out. Laminating them will make them last longer. You can stick on magnet strips to the back of each if you will use them on a magnet board, or Velcro strips to the front of one and back of the other to play on the floor or at a table.

Set out the larger pieces. Sing the names of the colors to the tune of Head and Shoulders as you point to each one

Red, orange, yellow, green and blue,

Purple and pink.

Red, orange, yellow, green and blue,

Purple and pi-i-i-ink.

Red orange, yellow,

Green and blue,

Red orange, yellow, green and blue,

Purple and pink.

Put the smaller pieces in a bin and take turns taking them out one at a time to match them.
