Martin Luther King Activity Pages

Life of Martin Luther King, Jr. Book
Use this project to help your class learn about Dr. King’s life in preparation for MLK Day, or a Social Studies lesson about him.
Children research each part of Dr. King’s life and complete a page. You can have one child complete each page to make a class book, have them split the work with a partner or small group, or have each child complete a whole book about the life of Dr. King.

I Have a Dream Speech Book
Use this project to help your class learn about Dr. King’s famous speech in preparation for MLK Day, or a Social Studies lesson about him.
Younger children can draw a picture to accompany each section of the speech. Older children can research and print historical photos to create a collage for each section of the speech.

Buy or check out a book by Martin Luther King from your local library.

This year on Martin Luther King Day, instead of quickly reading a quote online and reposting it, read one of the books written by Dr. King. Note your favorite quotes and share them, listing the book and chapter, encouraging others to read it. It should surprise no one that MLK is one of the most gifted authors in American history. It might surprise many, though, that without the cadence, booming deep voice, and stage presence, his written words still carry as much force as during his speeches.
