Watch this video to learn and review the rules of rounding to the nearest place value.

Print this poster to help children remember the rules of rounding.

Print this template and keep inside a plastic sleeve for children to fill in numbers they are rounding. On the reverse side, use the skip-counting to determine which step on the ladder the number comes between.

Example: When rounding 412 to the nearest hundred, turn the page over to count by hundreds. 412 is bigger than 400 and smaller than 500, so it will come between the 400 and 500 steps on the ladder.
