Fruit of the Spirit Class Rules
These Fruit of the Spirit group rules work great for a church children’s program or Christian School:

Ten Commandments Posters

Children’s Church Songs

Busy Bags
If your church has children join their parents for worship before they are dismissed to their ministry, you have probably found that this can be a joyful experience to many, but a very difficult one for some. To help all families feel welcome and help parents relax, create busy bags for children to use. Fill bags with things like picture books, coloring pages on a clipboard with crayons, lacing boards, puzzles, mazes, and fidget toys.

Prayer Rings

This is a great way for children to keep track of prayer requests (and much easier than a list). Slice a pack of index cards in half and hole punch one of the short ends. Write a prayer or praise on each one and put them on a metal clasp ring. Decorate the front card so it’s easy to tell when you have gone all the way around. You can pray for each item as you hold its card.
Imagination Box
If you want to encourage children to participate in group prayer during children’s church or in a Christian school, having something special to hold can sometimes make sharing out loud feel a little more comfortable. Try creating an Imagination Box. Fill a box (an old wipes box with a lid works very well) with random small objects. Have children take turns pulling out one item at the beginning of prayer. As the item is passed on, children each get a turn to pray, if they choose. Since they want to hold onto the item for as long as possible, it gives them time to find their words, rather than freeze because no words come to them right away and they grow self-conscious. Keeping the items rotating adds some excitement as children don’t know what item will come out of the box today.

Need something fun to warm up a group of kids? Try starting each day with one of these jokes for kids:

Have children learn about some of the more famous mothers of the Bible, then write an example of ways their moms share some qualities with them. You can cut out each heart to make a heart-shaped book; or hole punch the center, glue heart-halves back-to-back, and then string a ribbon through the holes to make a hanging decoration.
