Multiplication and Addition Restaurant Project

X60 Multiplication Project
Use this project to help students practice two-digit by two-digit multiplication while creating a fun mobile.

Holiday Feast Multiplication Project
This is a fun project to do with students around the holidays. It includes a rubric and evenly difficult problems for 10 pairs of students. However, for a non-graded project, you may want to ask children to bring in a family recipe, and then have them trade and multiply to feed the whole class.

County Fair Division Project
Use this fair-themed math project to wrap up a unit on division. Students can choose their own division sentences to create word problems, roll dice to get them, or can have them assigned.
Have students color and cut out tickets to act out going on each other’s rides a given number of times.
Children can also create 3D models of their rides with recyclables.

Additionville & Subtractionville
Use this project to wrap up a unit on addition or subtraction with regrouping. You can take time to discuss city planning, read a book about different roles in a city, or assign each page to a student who already has high interest in a particular topic listed, (and thus much of the background knowledge needed to write a math question related to the topic). You can also use this to follow a Social Studies lesson on city planning, with students who are already familiar with regrouping.
To add a STEAM element, have children use empty tissue boxes and recyclable/scrap materials to design a diorama. When put all together, the dioramas will create a miniature town: Additionville or Subtractionville.

Food Fractions Project
Use this project to wrap up a unit on fractions. Students choose an amount to be eaten that will leave a mixed number left over and color in the amount of food that is left over, crossing out the food that has been eaten.

Geometry Angles Project
Use this fun project to evaluate students’ knowledge of measuring angles.
